Granted, this picture is not hugely original, i have seen many similar type photos on this site, but this picture jumped out at me as i was scrolling through the myriad new pictures on my screen.

This is a striking photo, the vivid green and the flash of white. I really get the feeling of movement in the water; the expert use of the right shutter speed is key in the feeling of movement.
Too fast a shutter speed, and, yes, you capture more water detail, but you loose the movement, it is frozen in time, each droplett in suspense. Too slow a shutter speed you loose all the detail of the continuously moving water.

I think Brian has managed to find the perfect trade off between detail and movement and the overall effect is a superb picture with crisp colours, good composition and just the right amount of movement.
